2005, Springhouse PA – Formerly vice president
for AgroFresh North America, Raphael Crawford has been named vice president
for the Americas, adding Central, South and Latin America to his roster
as expanding geographic markets for the company. Crawford is responsible
for developing and executing strategic growth plans for the company’s
flagship offering, SmartFresh, a breakthrough technology that maintains
the freshness, flavor and appearance of fresh produce so consumers can
enjoy better-tasting, high-quality produce all year long. Crawford also
heads the sales, field research and marketing functions for employee
teams in those regions.
Crawford has extensive experience in brand management and
finance, having previously worked with Southwestern Bell Co (SBC) telecommunications
and Campbell Foodservice Company in consumer and business-to-business
marketing and finance roles. He also has firsthand appreciation for
the quality and sensory elements of consumer demand stemming from his
experience working in the restaurant business.
Crawford is passionate about his company's vision for providing
consumers around the world with the freshest and best-tasting fruits
and vegetables available. He believes his strength as an AgroFresh executive
lies in no small part to his commitment to fully understanding and reacting
to customer needs. Crawford and his team work 24/7 if necessary to generate
value for the many growers, shippers, packers and retailers who have
embraced SmartFresh quality produce by offering customized account programs,
international food safety and quality programs, technical assistance,
highly skilled certified field staffing and support as well as one-on-one
customized support to ensure superior levels of customer satisfaction.

the company's global technical, operations, customer service and communication
experts.
Crawford's "no substitute for hard work"
philosophy extends to his academic achievements which consistently put
him at the head of the class. He has an Associate of Science degree
in Culinary Arts from the Restaurant School of Philadelphia, a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Economics from Wesleyan University, a Master of Science
degree in Finance from the University of New Haven and is both a Certified
Management Accountant and a Certified Financial Manager.
